This is based on childhood memories of a school trip to Hadrian’s Wall which I think may be how a lot of people first experience it. There are walking paraphernalia and lots of sweets and pop! It is also about the difficulty of sometimes relating history to the present day. I tried to present 4th century pottery alongside modern day items to make us link the past to present, and think about how people were alive in that area just like we are today.
