I have lived on the line of the wall for forty years. There is no sign of the wall in the village, many of the older cottages have stones from the wall used in their building, my printing studio has Roman stones in the walls. Pieces of pottery and a Roman bead have been found in the garden. The view we look out on is the same as the soldiers on guard would have seen in all weathers – this is the view in my print.
